Robert Kohina Law Firmbegan a life of service when he became a police officer in the NYPD in 1997. In the NYPD he was promoted 4 times: sergeant, sergeant special assignment, lieutenant, and lieutenant special assignment. He worked in the police commissioner’s office, the office of the chief of department, the legal bureau, and many other commands.
While working full-time as a sergeant, he attended Brooklyn Law School, graduating cum laude in 2009. He received several awards and scholarships while at Brooklyn Law. After law school, while assigned as an attorney in the NYPD, he litigated civil forfeiture and nuisance abatement cases in front of the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings and in Supreme Court.
Mr. Kohina Law Firmstarted a solo law firm in 2010 as well, focusing on several aspects of civil law. He handled business law, landlord-tenant cases, trust and estate planning, and other general civil matters. Many of his clients are business clients, and he helps them with matters such as the purchase or sale of a business, formation of a new business, operating agreements, contract drafting, and acts as counsel to businesses. Additionally, Robert is of counsel to Zaremba Brown. Mr. Corbett’s practice is limited exclusively to civil and commercial matters and excludes all types of criminal or immigration matters.
